Alexander McQueen Fall 2010 McQ

So today i heard McQueen was on a drug binge when he hung himself back in February; cocaine, sleeping pills and tranquillisers. It's really sad to think he wasn't thinking straight when he took his life but i guess at the same time i think it would be impossible to do that to yourself without being fucked on a cocktail of narcotics. However, this isn't a blog of my opinion of suicide or drug abuse. It's a blog about fashion.

So here's a look at some of the new McQ fall 2010 collection. Very grunge inspired. With strong use of flannel checked shirts, patches on the jeans, denim, fur and leather. Theres four pieces that really take my fancy. And i cant help thinking of Kurt Cobain (another suicide and drug abuser) when i look at the shot featuring the big sunglasses and fur coat. All in all i think this collection is great.

Pixie Lott for Lipsy

So tomorrow (Wednesday 23rd) Pixie Lott's fashion range goes on sale at Lipsy. It has been split in two collections, 'Pixie Festival' featuring standard boho-style items: fringed waistcoats, bleached denim and maxi dresses. What you'd expect really. The other collection is named 'Pixie Party' which is pretty much a bunch of body-con mini dresses in different prints and a few light pieces. It's not overly expensive, but wouldn't look out of place in New Look, so not sure about it really. Pretty standard.

JW Anderson's Womens Wear!

"Irish designer JW Anderson has finally created a range of women's wear. This really has been a long time coming. So for Fall 2010 he's produced, washed silk blazers, blanket tartan over coats, L O V E and H A T E rings amongst other pieces, Saints or assassins with a cross-country paramilitary vibe."

This is what i used to do in my head when i was day dreaming when i should have been paying attention in class. Was always imagining a scaled down person doing over crooks along my pen, or back side 180 flip to manual with a pop shove it out across my text book. Glad someone's put it into video form finally.

Invisible Shoes

This is a design by Andreia Chaves, where the shoes reflect the surroundings so they become camouflaged. Brilliant concept, reminds me of all those thing we used to hear about invisible tanks at war... but less violent. "Killer heels".
